Second Week

Here is a fantastic example of bad eBay selling. Its a rather tattered second week badge that was in with another which i will blog in due time. Its corroded which is fine, the ebay pic showed that. The annoyance is the broken pin on the back. It is essential that things like this are mentioned! It matters to collectors and, although in this case the price was low enough not to be a huge detriment, could have been a big problem.

Any sellers coming across this blog PLEASE be honest when selling. I would still have bought it with a damaged pin but wouldn't have bid as high.

Ireland 1949 (replica)

My Ireland section is woefully thin so to bump it up with a replica is a good move. Initially disappointed to find a replica I fired up eBay to find that that was exactly what I had bid upon!

This one is an Irish harp on a blue field with a green banner. It is deistinctive as a replica with its gold rather than silver metal and all in one modern style safety pin. The real giveaway are the words replica which are stamped upon it.

THE “15” CLUB

A slightly different acquisition today.

Sitting on the edges of acceptably collectable badges is this tin club badge. I know very little about The 15 Club and am guessing it was the teenage equivalent of Beaver club. All intact but slightly faded and no makers mark on this 70s/80s style badge.

DOH!!!

I knew it wouldn't be long before I did this. Due to my incompetence (and not realising that I had badges out of sequence in my folder) I have bought a duplicate. Oh well time to see if my listing skills can turn this error into a profit.

Filey 1960

Hands up those of you that thought I had died?

Well after a protracted buying break I am now back and spending my pocket money on little bits of tin once more.

This one is a Filey 1969 in blue, yellow and silver. Its a little tarnished but the pin is intact and is a welcome addition to the clan.

Buying

Its been ages since I last posted on this blog. Like most hobbies collecting is cyclical and today I had the urge. Hopefully I will have some new acquisitions for this blog sometime in the next few weeks. Keep em peeled.
