It wasn’t just the camps that had badges, Butlins also issued badges to kids for access to the Beavers Club, Staff badges, committee badges, event badges and more. This example is my 1964 Beavers Club badge. It features a drummer boy against a background of a sailing yacht and unlike the camp badges is painted rather then enamelled. Considering the pounding it would have had in the hands of our dads it is in surprisingly good condition with no visible paint chipping and only surface scratches on the rear. The maker is John Gaunt of London.
