Pwllheli 1954

badges 001

A challenge issued to my daughters was the cause of this purchase. Find me a badge that I don’t have for a maximum of £20. Not only did they find a Pwllheli badge that I had never seen, they found an early 50s one and for under £8 including postage. A little distressed this one was made by an unknown maker but I am pleased that the fine face detail is intact. Well done kids.

Another from just after the war and (I think) another bikini. This one has been worn away slightly I think but looks to be a halter style. No makers mark again on this one.

Pwllheli 1964

DSCF1001 Staying with the dragon motif for the Welsh resort this is another excellent badge with a particularly mean looking Welsh Red! Made by Reeves. DSCF1002

Pwllheli 1948

DSCF1001 Not the shiniest of badges this one but a really nice design and an absolute bargain for a 1948 badge clocking in at well under a fiver. A purchase I was very pleased with indeed. Made by Reeves.DSCF1002

This one is a new acquisition today and goshdarn if it isn't just lovely. Bright red welsh dragon on a mainly silver badge with yellow inserts. This is a more then welcome addition and is in fantastic condition. This is a Morton T. Colver badge

Pwllheli 1958

DSCF1001 Now here is an example of a beautifully detailed and intricate badge that only uses 3 colours. Made by Gaunt it depicts a Welsh Dragon on an orange background. All of the colours are vibrant and this is a real gem in my collection. Pin is intact and there is a small degree of tarnish on the rear but if it wasn't dated 1958 you would never guess it is over 50 years old.
