2nd Week

Stop the presses. I have a new badge!

This is actually a benchmark acquisition for me as it partly completes a section. I say partly as there are two known colour variations for second week badges. However with this badge I now have a representation of all versions of the 2nd week run.

In stunning condition I am rather pleased with this one.

Second Week

Here is a fantastic example of bad eBay selling. Its a rather tattered second week badge that was in with another which i will blog in due time. Its corroded which is fine, the ebay pic showed that. The annoyance is the broken pin on the back. It is essential that things like this are mentioned! It matters to collectors and, although in this case the price was low enough not to be a huge detriment, could have been a big problem.

Any sellers coming across this blog PLEASE be honest when selling. I would still have bought it with a damaged pin but wouldn't have bid as high.

THE “15” CLUB

A slightly different acquisition today.

Sitting on the edges of acceptably collectable badges is this tin club badge. I know very little about The 15 Club and am guessing it was the teenage equivalent of Beaver club. All intact but slightly faded and no makers mark on this 70s/80s style badge.

2nd week (kite)

Another 2nd Week badge, this one is in the shape of a kite and is two coloured. Effective and well presented. This badge was made by Reeves and Co.

Beaver club 2”

This is real collectors badge, mainly in that only a real collector would want to own the nasty tat! It is a pressed circle with plastic insert. Nasty, big and brash.

No makers mark, after all who would own up to it?

Beaver Club (Undated)

Here we have a beaver club badge from the latter years of the camp. Production is much cheaper and the image is simply on an inlaid plastic disc rather then enamel or paint. The maker was Fattorini.

Hurrah it’s Butlins (Modern)

This seems to be a modern reissue of the item I blogged HERE however I would not go so far as to say its a replica as the original was a cut out badge and this is a simple rectangle. It has an acrylic skim and a modern safety clasp. A handsome badge but certainly one that is in the collection purely because it exists.

Staff (green banner)

Here we have a staff badge, maker unknown, in a lime green. Unfortunately that's about all I know. It does have engraving to the rear which is tricky to make out but may say 107.

Beaver Club

This is an undated beaver club badge, with that in mind I know nothing about it at all. Made by Gaunt and in great condition its a lovely item. It will leave the rest to the pictures.

2nd Week

One of my more distressed badges for you today. This is a second week badge given to those more affluent that can spend a bit longer then the common man. Undated unfortunately. This badge was made by Gaunt
